Castle of Lamothe "Black Prince's" - Gironde
33450 ST.-SULPICE-ET-CAMEYRAC
Opening all the year
Description
This
fabulous baronial Château is in the heart of the famous
Bordelaise wineyards, nearby Saint-Emilion.
Tucked away in a
rural environment at the village's gates, you just have to
drive 20 mns into the heart of Bordeaux or the International
airport.
Still surrounded by its own spring fed moat, it sits
with its three towers on a small natural rise overlooking the
Dordogne Valley. Built in the 12 th C., during the time Aquitaine
was under English rule, then modified and updated during the
17 th and 19 th centuries, it is also reputed to be one of
the « Black Prince's » (Edward of Woodstock,
Prince of Wales) residences.
This private château has
been tastefully restored and decorated by the Bastide family
to provide a delightful French luxury home with a high level
of service.
Refinement and comfort pervade the bedrooms mostly
ensuite. A Royal breakfast and fine dinners (only on demand)
are served. A very special spot for History, Nature and Wine
lovers...
> « Vieilles Maisons françaises » member.
> On request: possibilities to organize wine tours during your stay and private tastings of outstanding vintages in the evening.
